About Us
This may read as more of an ode to Japan and Japanese popular culture than the usual about us tirade and all its self-involved aesthetics, but we’re cool with that! We know people who are grateful to Japan for sushi, others for the crazy latest technologies, but there’s something we love more than all those things put together! Manga!
We love the Manga and Anime art form, we are advocates and self-confessed addicts!
Our love for drawing Chibis and many other kawaii characters is not the only reason that brought
us together but also our skillset, creative thinking, experience and technical expertise to bring you
irresistible and polished final products!
We do all this for the love of the culture and all for your use and entertainment.
Dodomeki?
The more trained and experienced eye (no we’re not calling you old) on Japanese mythology creatures is wondering why we picked Dodomeki of all things. After all she is a demon, which according to legend emerged around the Edo period. Said demon assumed the form of a woman and then stole money from thieves – yes a reverse Robin Hood of sorts, a lady thief – the coins she stole became eyes around her arms. We suppose then, it was only fitting that in ancient Japan thieves’ arms got tattooed with eyes. Some even believe that when thieves died they became Dodomekis. We loved the concept and decided to give her a chibi makeover, she is looking as cute as two buttons yet with a fierce temper! Now that the mythology lesson is done...
